Fashion Week Hollanov
The Hollywood Reporter yesterday published a report on the media impact value of celebrities and brands at the Golden Globes on Sunday, ranking which stars generated the most social media impressions related to their clothing and accessories, a way for fashion and jewellery houses to measure the marketing value of dressing x or y star at major events.
On the women’s side, Chanel and Selena Gomez topped the list and on the men’s side, Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie took the top four spots between them for Giorgio Armani, Saint Laurent, Bulgari, and Tiffany. This, one again, is a reflection of how popular they are, hot popular Heated Rivalry has been, and how engaged the fanbase is. Needless to say, more brands want in this action. And the timing couldn’t be better because it’s men’s fashion week season. Hudson is confirmed to be walking in the Dsquared2 show today in Milan.

Excellent synergy here as Dean and Dan Caten are Canadian.
As for Connor, it’s been reported by multiple outlets that he’ll be walking for Dolce & Gabbana tomorrow and there are rumours that Hudson will attend the show in support. If all of this ends up happening that’s relationships established with four fashion houses and two jewellery houses within a week. And so far that’s just Milan. Will they head to Paris Fashion Week next?
And, looking ahead, what could that mean in a few months at the Met Gala. A lot can happen between now and then, the frenzy over Heated Rivalry will likely have abated a bit – for their sake I hope so because they probably need a break – but that wouldn’t take away from the fact that they are industry sensations, more than famous enough to meet whatever qualifications Anna Wintour might have for a guest list.
In other Heated Rivalry news, the NHL is clout-chasing. The league’s commissioner Gary Bettman, one of the longest serving villains in professional sport, and a member of Donald Trump’s sports council, commented on the show, talking about how he binged it and how it’s great for the game. He and the league haven’t exactly been the most willing allies to the 2SLGBTQ+ community. I have said over and over these last few weeks that the NHL and status quo men’s hockey culture does not deserve Heated Rivalry but of course they’re trying to ride the HR wave as much as they can to their own benefit without actually and actively making material strides to ensure that the sport is a safer and more inclusive space.
You know who does deserve more support though? The PWHL. Anne Murray knows!
I repeat – if Hudson and Connor are going to the Olympics, let’s see them at the women’s hockey games… and figure skating!
