Someone tried to pull focus at the Grammys last night by showing up uninvited and making a whole spectacle with his wife’s body. I would rather talk about his ex-wife who, around the same time, was with their children. Kim Kardashian took North to see a performance of Wicked and then was seen taking Saint to a movie. I like her hair this length. And both coats are excellent.

That’s really all I have to say about Kim but I’m posting these shots because we’re trying something new on the site in this space instead of What Else? which is usually the last post of the day. Jacek can explain more in this week’s mailbag for those of you who are interested in the inside baseball of our site. But we are testing out this format as the daily closer while still sharing links and recommendations to our online friends. On that note…

What else happened today...

Taylor Swift’s red dress at the Grammys was pretty standard Vivienne Westwood – all the signature design marks are there. I like the choice because it seemed to match her mood: this is cocktail, a party pick for a girl who was clearly there to party. If you’d told me about the thigh chain before I saw it, I think I would have hated the idea but the way it was executed worked out well, mostly because she played to it. Taylor gave leg whenever she could give leg. I will say this though – I don’t think she had an easy time walking in those heels, especially when she stepped out to present. So I wonder if her feet were killing her all night because the girl was jumping around and dancing at every opportunity. (Go Fug Yourself)

Ben Affleck became the Dunkin’ Donuts spokesdude by being sad-faced outside his house, and generally all over the place, for years. Nate Bargatze now has a deal with DoorDash for a Super Bowl commercial – and he did it without having a resting misery face. He used Saturday Night Live instead. I’m not mad at it. And we will talk more about Ben’s latest tomorrow. (Pajiba)

You may have seen a moment that went viral last night when reporters from the AP were interviewing Babyface and disrespected him in favour of Chappell Roan. That reporter is now getting dragged up and down and all around by the internet and other celebrities, like Dionne Warwick and Cardi B. The AP has now issued an apology. I was super annoyed in the moment, which I shared in our chat at The Squawk. But at the same time, I don’t think the answer is to run this person out of town. As I also said at The Squawk, what I wish for her is training. And I say this as someone who does this job! It is undervalued. And with job cuts happening in media all over the place, there are fewer and fewer resources and opportunities. It’s too easy for an online mob to come after this person without, at the same time, appreciating those with experience in these positions and HOW they come to that experience. One of the (many) reasons why instances like this keep occurring is because they think anyone can do it. This is bullsh-t. Not everyone can do it. Especially not the ones with a TikTok account or someone who is good at making reels. That’s why I always say that live TV is an artform, an artform that should be protected.  (Hollywood Unlocked)

Pete Davidson has thoughts about men’s feet. I agree and disagree. I don’t have pretty feet. My hands? Gorgeous. My feet? They’re terrifying. It’s not the only reason but it’s one of the reasons I don’t wear open toe shoes that often. HOWEVER. I take care of my feet to the best of my ability. Regular pedicures every two weeks. They will never be cute but they’re doing the best they can so if and when I HAVE to be barefoot, like at the beach, they can get by. So back to men and their feet – I am married to a man who does not give a sh-t about his feet. And they are dangerous. Like he cuts his toenails into triangles and inadvertently turns them into weapons. This is irresponsible. So Pete’s point about men not showing their feet? Yeah, because they haven’t been conditioned to look after them. This would be less of a problem if men were encouraged to get pedicures. I work with a man who has beautiful feet that he can show off because he treats them to pedicures often. Make this a part of the male regimen, please! (Celebitchy)

There’s some really sad news coming out of the East Asian entertainment community this weekend. And I was surprised to see that even western media outlets covered it. Like PEOPLE, Deadline, and Variety. Because for so many of us, Meteor Garden, the original series out of Taiwan in 2001, was seminal television spawning so many remakes in Korean and in China that were equally as popular. Barbie Hsu, the star of the OG, passed away at the age of 48. Drama fans everywhere are devasted, me included. Rest in peace, Barbie. (Variety)
