Dear Gossips,

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has won everything this year: the NBA championship, NBA MVP, NBA Finals MVP, Conference Finals MVP, the NBA scoring title, and as of last night, the ESPY Awards for Best NBA player and Best Male Athlete of the Year.

Pretty much a total sweep at the end of one of the most dominant seasons ever, which, for those of us from Toronto, is extra, extra thrilling…although he did not wrap the Canadian flag around his waist at the event the way he did at the parade, of course not.

If there was a style award though, SGA would take that too. He’s not just the best dressed athlete in the NBA, he’s the best dressed athlete, period. The suit last night was Ferragamo and, as usual, he wore it beautifully.

Not the most flamboyant look we’ve seen from him but this is why I’m so obsessed with his taste – it’s the range of what SGA serves from the tunnel to the red carpet. Sometimes it’s a plushy coat, sometimes it’s just a nylon over a great pair of trousers.

Like, check out the fit on these pants:

A pair of cowboy boots that show up unexpectedly…

And then on a night when it was pretty much a given that he’d be on stage to cap off an incredible season, the vibe was classic tailoring, a look that works in any era.

Yours in gossip,

Lainey
