Pour one out for Iker Casillas and Sara Carbonero. If you’ve been visiting this site over the last decade or so, you know they were once an obsession of mine. Their split was confirmed last week and then I got distracted by the Grammys and there have been other priorities this week so I haven’t given them a proper farewell.
A reader called Alexa reminded me about this yesterday, thank you Alexa. It’s been a rough couple of years for Iker and Sara, as both have had to deal with health challenges. They say they remain close and committed to their two children. For one last time then, let’s remember the kiss. It was the World Cup 2010 in South Africa just after Spain won the whole thing. And what made it especially sweet was that earlier on the tournament, Sara was accused of being a distraction. Clearly not a distraction. Iker was so overcome with emotion that… well… you know.
