Michelle Monaghan’s shoulder flaps

My mind is still with White Lotus and when I popped into one of our photo agencies to check what fresh sets we could use to finish off the day, Michelle Monaghan popped off the page in what I think is a pretty interesting decision with these shoulder flaps (?).  I think Lainey would love this whole outfit but I’m not sold on these. This is also where her voice in my head goes “you know nothing about fashion” and she’s right I guess but I think I would have a lot of people side with me on this one. 

The coat looked great. The shoulders?  No. 

 

Michelle has pinned her posts from 2023 discussing her experience with her skin cancer diagnosis and treatment to the top of her Instagram.  She posted twice post-treatment to raise awareness around getting checked, and discussed it more in depth in a feature with Refinery 29 before that.  Seems odd that one of the scenes around the toxicity of Jaclyn, Kate and Laurie’s relationship touched on her “sandblasted” skin. Granted, it’s not melanoma they’re talking about but I wonder how that part of the script read to her.

What else happened today…

Staying with The White Lotus, THR is ranking the worst Season 3 male characters and the list is a bit surprising. It depends on what criteria you use to rank them because there are several complete douchebag characters on the show, so if it was ranked by douchiness, this list would probably be quite different.  (The Hollywood Reporter)

A weird turn of events surrounding the casting (or re-casting) of Ted Lasso’s son for Season 4, who, by the sounds of it, wasn’t good enough at football/soccer (!?)? (Pajiba) 

The Fug Girls aren’t feeling Gal Gadot’s Walk of Fame dress and I feel like this is the general sentiment around Gal of late?  (Go Fug Yourself) 

Tina Fey doesn’t want you to have a side hustle if you’re rich and famous and she’s judging you for it (Celebitchy) 

Thank you for putting up with my rather basic observations for the afternoon.  We should be back to a more normal schedule tomorrow.
