Jennifer Lawrence was on Las Culturistas. I have … many thoughts on the way this podcast deals with Housewives but this interaction is on Jennifer Lawrence. Completely unprompted, she brought up a Salt Lake City Housewife who had gotten threads (a type of temporary, non-surgical facelift) in a really snarky way. Bowen tried to step in and say “she looks good” and Jennifer Lawrence mockingly said “ok.”
This is soooooo icky because it’s a massive star going after another woman’s face. She is far too famous to be doing this. It’s very, very easy for movie stars to punch down on reality TV stars (and becoming a Housewives fan has become an easy PR talking point on press junkets) but we could play the face game all day, at every level of celebrity. There are so many things to talk about with Housewives and their cosmetic surgeries are not that interesting. And frankly, they are way more transparent about their procedures than actresses are. Totally unforced L on Jennifer Lawrence’s part.
Orlando Bloom’s rumored new girlfriend mocked Katy Perry’s space field trip. If it was a normie? Funny costume. From the new girlfriend? Weirdo behavior. It’s giving desperate. It’s giving obsessed. It’s giving Mad Men elevator meme with a young Michael Ginsberg saying “I feel bad for you” and Don Draper replying, “I don’t think about you at all.” Katy Perry is Don Draper in this scenario.
The girlfriend is letting us know she is bothered. And now Orlando Bloom has me defending Katy Perry. That’s how low men sink. (For the record I have always suspected he is a man-bun performative feminist.)
If Hallmark movies had sequels. Gingerbread Falls LOL.
Before anyone gets excited about the reported Zendaya and Sydney Sweeney feud, consider the source (Daily Mail). I don’t believe they are locked in a bitter feud that is causing chaos behind the scenes. There might be chaos behind the scenes but that’s because Euphoria is chaos. I think this reporting is a very easy way for DM to clickbait those who are for-and-against the politics they think these two actresses represent. When really, has Zendaya said a word? No, and neither has Sydney. I think if either of them wanted to get a message out it would be through a trade like Variety or Deadline, not the Daily Mail. Look how their Stranger Things scoop turned out.
