Jennifer Lawrence loves “La Perla”

Jennifer Lawrence has been a longtime ambassador for Dior, though she’s not always at the Dior shows. She’s made it to Paris Fashion Week this season though, and continues the slip dress trend that’s been so dominant all year, in an icy blue piece that’s nightgown and toga at the same time, with the blousing and the gathering and the creative draping. I f-cking love it, because it’s not clingy but not too baggy.

As I mentioned a couple of weeks ago, we’ll probably start seeing more of JLaw in the coming weeks because of the new Hunger Games movie. Before the return of Katniss Everdeen though, Jennifer is front row with Rosalía and telling her to her face how much she loves LUX.

Well, of course she loves LUX. LUX is a masterpiece of an album, the work of an artist at the height of her powers. JLaw’s favourite track on the album is apparently “La Perla”, at least that’s what she’s telling Rosalía – and you don’t need to be a lipreader to figure out what she’s saying, you can hear it: “my favourite song I’ve ever heard in my entire life”.

This totally tracks. “La Perla” is a song about a f-ckboy. But the most twinkly song about a f-ckboy ever. Because she is having the best time telling this f-ckboy that he is an “emotional terrorist”, “narcissist”, “playboy”, “world class f-ckup”, “rip-off king” with a “gold medal in being a motherf-cker”. So for the listener, we’re having the best time listening to her read him for filth… elegantly, sexily, almost casually, and of course classically and musically. If you ever see me skipping down the street (Duncan St if you’re curious) on my way to work at 6am trying to dance the Mexican waltz, it’s because I’m bumping “La Perla” in my headphones at full blast. Clearly Jennifer Lawrence does her version of the same.
