Yesterday I posted about Alex Rodriguez’s claims – via TMZ – that he’s being extorted by an ex-lover. As I mentioned in that article, he was trying to get ahead of a story. What story? Well, the cover story in the new issue of The National Enquirer. It’s the Enquirer, so I don’t feel like I need to give it all that much time except to quickly summarise: Lauren Hunter used to f-ck him, now she’s sharing text messages that she allegedly exchanged with ARod after he and Jennifer Lopez started dating. And in those text messages he may or may not have tried to f-ck her again and also, she sent him some titty shots. ARod’s people continue to insist that Lauren is full of sh-t and that she just wants to embarrass him into paying her.
Whatever the truth is, it’s actually not my point. My point is that …this isn’t new for JLO?
Back in 2003, this is how JLO remembered her relationship with Sean Puffy Combs:
”It was the first time I was with someone who wasn’t faithful,” J. Lo tells Vibe magazine. ”I was in this relationship with Puff where I was totally crying, crazy and going nuts, it really took my whole life in a tailspin.”
During Lopez and Combs’ relationship, there were reports that she would hunt him down and knock on hotel room doors looking for him. ”I can’t remember right now, but I won’t say it didn’t happen,” she tells Vibe. ”I never caught him but I just knew. He’d say he was going to a club for a couple of hours and then never come back that night.”
When JLO was with Ben Affleck – and engaged to him – you’ll recall, after he went to a strip club in Vancouver, there were all kinds of rumours that he wasn’t just watching, that he allegedly was doing a lot of finger-touching.
When she was with Casper Smart, he was photographed heading into a sex shop – the kind with a peep show in the back room - and when he left the place, the paps caught him adjusting his junk. JLO only broke up with Casper four years after that though and when she did finally end it, it was because, according to PEOPLE, he cheated on her.
Now? Now she’s with ARod. They’ve been together three months. And already we have a possible sexting scandal.

Nothing. Because that’s the pattern. She falls in love with douchebags and she continues to have an amazing capacity to stay with those douchebags even when they embarrass her. Like, maybe ARod is telling the truth. Maybe he really is being extorted. But it’s not like he also doesn’t fit the description of the kind of men we’ve seen her falling for over and over again. There are some men who would never find themselves the subject of a story like this – true or otherwise. He is not one of those men. And she… doesn’t seem to be interested in those men.
