JLo’s Stepmother Weekend

Jennifer Lopez has been in the Hamptons for at least two weeks now, if not longer. Which means she and Ben Affleck did not spend the Fourth of July holiday together, as it seems more and more likely that their relationship could be coming to an end. Throughout the last couple of months, though, with all the Bennifer speculation and some of the gross reporting that it’s JLo’s fault, it’s also been hinted at that his children don’t f-ck with her which is obviously bullsh-t. 

We saw Violet having lunch with JLo a few weeks ago and she spent this past weekend in the Hamptons with JLo as they were seen, along with Violet’s friend, Cassidey Fralin, hanging with her stepmother, shopping for clothes, antiques, going for ice cream etc. JLo also posted a video of them in the car on IG stories:

You’ll note that JLo tagged Cassidey on that video. Which means, if you know teens, that she had their co-sign before doing this. And, frankly, tagging Cassidey gave Cassidey a lot more attention – she’s an actress, showing up on JLo’s IG with all those millions of followers isn’t a bad thing. And Violet, being her close friend, would know this. 

Once again, then, the takeaway here is that no matter what’s going on between Bennifer, their relationship with the kids remains positive. JLo and Violet are clearly maintaining their relationship and if Bennifer is indeed working out the terms of their divorce, it can’t be so acrimonious to the point where the connection with the children is strained. This, of course, is not a narrative that supports some of the reporting out there about JLo being a monster and Ben being sick of her and whatever whatever mess and too much attention. 

Tomorrow is their two-year wedding anniversary (the “Midnight Trip to Vegas” version). Will it come and go quietly? Last year there was a whole newsletter about it. Very curious to see if this year will be silence… or something.
