Dior: Jisoo and the Oscar winners

As mentioned earlier, Paris Fashion Week in and of itself is a big ass deal but there are a couple of key dates this time that might be more heatscore than the other shows because of who the designers are. Matthieu Blazy is making his debut at Chanel in a few days and the expectation is that his vision will set a new standard for the house, one that they’re hoping will remain for decades considering Karl Lagerfeld was at Chanel for 36 years. 

And then there’s Jonathan Anderson at Dior. He’s already presented his inaugural menswear collection but we all know that women’s fashion is still a higher point of interest. He is the first to oversee both menswear and womenswear at Dior since Christian Dior so he too is coming into the house after huge anticipation. Which is why the brand brought in as many notables as they could to support him today. 

As far as ambassadors go though, if we have to single out one for influence and impact, we have to start with Jisoo. Based on media impact value, Jisoo is not just Dior’s most valuable ambassador, she is the top ranked celebrity ambassador for any fashion house, period. Might explain why they posted her fitting on socials in the most revealing preview of the collection. 

That giant bow on the hip was sign of the bows to come – both on the runway and on Jisoo. She showed up in a tailored set today with a white bow over a bubble skirt.

And she was seated in between two Oscar winners, Jennifer Lawrence and Mikey Madison. 

Those weren’t the only Oscar winners in attendance. Does Dior have the most Oscar winners as ambassadors? Natalie Portman wasn’t there but she’s been with Dior for a long time. And so has Charlize Theron who was in my favourite fit from today. She looks so f-cking good in these shorts over flats.

I haven’t loved Dior on Charlize in a long time, especially on a carpet. Dior by Jonathan Anderson, though, is a whole other story, literally. Can’t wait to see how that looks on Charlize at a premiere. 

Also really into Jenna Ortega’s look today incorporation the denim that was popping up on the runway.

Example – this gorgeous denim shirt, bowed at the collar, and that’s just one of two bows in the outfit as you can see, per my note above, how many bows were peppered throughout the collection. 

Going back to the denim though – Taylor Russell was in jeans and leather today. She was one of Jonathan’s muses from his later years at Loewe and she’s obviously along for the ride at Dior.

Greta was recently named as a Dior ambassador and her first campaign dropped a few days ago. That face card never declines, not even sideways.
