Joshua Jackson has been at this a long time, so it shouldn’t be a surprise that he’s good at talk show interviews. He was in New York today doing press for Karate Kid: Legends which, as an aside, I don’t know about you but I only realised he was in this last week.
Anyway Josh’s appearance on The TODAY Show is just over six minutes, and while I was watching, it occurred to me how relaxed he is the entire time. Of course he has the messaging about the movie down, tight and smooth, but he also sells the sh-t out of it, especially when he talks about how special it is to be part of a project with this kind of legacy and what it means for different generations.
And then you’ll want to stick around for the story he tells about his house burning down during the LA wildfires earlier this year and how his daughter reacted to the situation. A heartbreaking and heartwarming experience, no doubt, but it’s his energy during this whole conversation, how at ease he is – and again, 25 years into his fame, of course this isn’t new for him but some celebrities just aren’t ever comfortable in these settings and Josh really is. Also, he looks GREAT. Like even when he’s eating pizza and I don’t generally find people attractive when they’re eating pizza.
Oh and one more thing – just f-cking renew Doctor Odyssey, ABC! Even John Oliver wants you to!
What else happened today…
There’s been some conflicting information about the ratings for The Last of Us. But the numbers are in, and the show performed. This is a hit for HBO, there is no doubt, because it grew its audience which is exactly what you want with season two and going into season three. When season three will happen is another story because (among other reasons) Pedro Pascal is looking busier and busier. (Pajiba)
Sofia Vergara was at the Monaco Grand Prix and while I know this is a very, VERY Sofia Vergara outfit, I hate it so much. The bustier and the jeans, I didn’t wear them in the 2000s and I would never wear this now. That said, credit to her because if you told me this photo was from the first season of Modern Family, I would believe you. (Go Fug Yourself)
Like Rachel Leishman, I cannot hear “Rainbow Connection” without bursting into tears, except for when I’m singing it, which I did recently on set at ETALK and the crew threatened to quit. Anyway, my point is that if Kermit spoke at my commencement, it would have been the most special way for me to graduate. Which, I guess, is why the usuals are big mad about it. (The Mary Sue)
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce went out for dinner in Florida and now we know what they ordered. One of the dishes was the Dover sole. I have never in my life ordered Dover sole at a restaurant. To me it has no flavour. You will never convince me otherwise. (Celebitchy)
Natalie Portman and Kelly Clarkson wore the same outfit, years ago, and are now talking about it on daytime TV. (EW)
