Justin and Hailey Bieber coordinate their respective launches - a new album for him and Rhode hitting Sephora for her

The big surprise music news today is that Justin Bieber is dropping another album tonight. Swag II was not expected and MC will cover this tomorrow on the site but for now, congratulations to JB for locking this down and once again messing with people who claimed to know what he’s been doing.

Hailey Bieber, meanwhile, is in New York, busy with her own work. The Biebers have timed it so that both their projects are launching at the same time. Hailey’s Rhode is now available at Sephora, and Hailey’s been busy promoting the brand, ensuring that her scale-up is successful. This, of course, is a huge step for Rhode, going into retail after a couple of years of direct-to-consumer online sales after being acquired by e.l.f. Beauty. It’ll be interesting in a few months to see how it performs in store.

But the gossip point here is that the Biebers seem to have coordinated their drops. Rhode hitting Sephora, of course, would have had to have longer advance planning but the joint publicity in their respective professional domains is interesting. Whether or not tabloid and social media want to spin it into something else remains to be seen.
