If you didn’t know where Kate Beckinsale was going, would you assume it was an award show?

The Overdresser is at it again.

Now I know it’s “de rigueur” (ahem, James Franco) to style it up for talk shows these days, but this...this is taking it too far. It glimmers!  

Her defenders would say the length allows her to get away with it, but the fabric and the one shoulder, and her hair, and even the jewellery say otherwise.

Ask yourself: did she take as long to get ready here as she would at the Golden Globes?

Yes.

It’s a talk show.
