Favourite dress of the night from Critics’ Choice – definitely Kate Beckinsale. The colour, it was so warm. And the detail…amazing.

Here she is with her husband Len Wiseman, happy to be included at the party among the Best Actress nominees. Kate is not nominated for a Golden Globe and has not been announced as a presenter so she likely will not be in attendance on Sunday. It was her only occasion to wear it. And amazingly enough she didn’t blow her load early and put it on to get her nails done, which wouldn’t be out of the question as far as she’s concerned, though to be fair, she actually has curtailed the habit somewhat – that overdressing problem of hers.

Could be her friendship with Victoria Beckham that’s made the difference. Perhaps she saw objectively how ridiculous it is on someone else.
