Thanks to Casey for giving me the heads up about these photos, I needed them. It’s Election Day here in Canada and everyone is saying it’s too close to call. There’s been stress for days. So…how about a Canadian we can all agree on?
Keanu Reeves and Alexandra Grant went out for sushi the other night. They’ve been together now for months, even years. It’s a happy, stable relationship – I’m happy for him, we should all be happy for him. And you’ll be happy to see these shots of Keanu sticking out his arm, like in the most exaggerated way, so that Alexandra knows he wants her to loop her arm around it.
This is a tricky move. Not everyone can pull it off. If it was, say, Shawn Mendes or Justin Bieber or Justin Timberlake (gross) or Mark Wahlberg (ew!), you’d roll your eyes. So a high degree of difficulty here to not make it cheesy and lean into the goofiness without it seeming performative (hi, Justin Timberlake). Which is why Keanu is one of the few who can pull this off. He can be goofy because he is goofy and never pretends to be more goofy than he is and isn’t too cool to be goofy which is what makes him, despite the fact that he plays the ultimate assassin, so f-cking sweet and irresistible. You know he’s quirky and nice and adorable and if he feels like putting his arm out like it’s an old-timey cartoon, he will and who’d be crazy enough not to take it?!
