That Ed Gein show on Netflix has barely cooled and the Ryan Murphy factory is already onto the next thing, All’s Fair, coming to Hulu/Disney+ next month and starring Kim Kardashian, Niecy Nash, Naomi Watts, Sarah Paulson, Teyana Taylor, and Glenn Close.

There’s a new featurette all about the cast of powerful women anchoring the series—Teyana is the standout, naturally.

But as Lainey wrote in last week’s mailbag, Kim K is the big draw for a lot of people, maybe even most people, as she enters her “real actor era”. Look, I was ready to dunk on this, but I tried to watch the Ed Gein show and didn’t even make it through 1 ½ episodes. There is literally NO way for All’s Fair to be worse than that, no matter how wild and campy it might get.

As she is the star of the show, Kim has been doing promotional rounds, including appearing on the podcast Call Her Daddy. She talked about her marriage to Kanye West, and she stayed in it maybe longer than outsiders thought she should. On that score, no judgment. She has four kids to think about, and it sounds like it was pretty nightmarish to be in it, even with all the wealth and access she has to resources. Some things just aren’t easy, no matter what. But speaking of wealth, she also confessed to not know how much milk costs, saying, “You know, I’d like to know a little bit more about what a milk carton costs.”

It's giving “there’s people dying”. I don’t expect any Kardashian to know the cost of grocery staples, but also, if you really do want to know, just go to the store. You don’t HAVE to be cut off and weird just because you’re super rich. That’s a choice.

Anyway, the premiere for All’s Fair was last night, and it had a huge turnout, because the cast is f-cking huge. Kim was there leading off—I actually really like her Schiaparelli dress—along with Niecy Nash; Naomi Watts, with Billy Crudup in tow; Judith Light; Teyana Taylor looking like the queen of an alien civilization; Sarah Paulson; Glenn Close; Jessica Simpson; and Elizabeth Berkley. This is how I found out Elizabeth Berkley has been married to Greg Lauren, nephew of Ralph, for over twenty years. Also present: Kris Jenner, which just makes me think about Kristen Wiig’s Mama K impression from SNL.

Also, I’m sort of living for this photo of Teyana Taylor not being into whatever Kim is doing:

I know it’s a split-second moment and Teyana was probably just setting her stance for more photos, but STILL. I will be thinking about the possibilities for the rest of the day. Is she plotting her takeover of Earth? Contemplating the mysteries of the void? Ruminating on the cost of a carton of milk? Discuss.
