Kristen and Michael: 17 years later

Kristen Stewart and Michael Angarano posed for photos yesterday at the premiere of Sacramento. I posted about this a few weeks ago – Michael wrote and directed the film, in which he stars alongside Kristen, Michael Cera, and his wife, Maya Erskine. 

As previously noted, one of the points of interest here of course is that Kristen and Michael Angarano dated when they were young adults, they were together when she first started filming Twilight. They actually went to the MTV VMAs together, holding hands, in September 2008, three months before the first Twilight opened in theatres. 

Most people who were very online at the time probably remember her appearance there, from that distinctive dress. But not that photo of Kristen with Michael. Because, of course, the more dominant image from that event is this one: 

It’s now 2025, everyone has grown up, love was lost and found again, and the friendship has remained -plus one. Reminds me of my favourite Gwen Stefani song “Cool”: 

“And I'll be happy for you
If you can be happy for me

And now we're hanging out with your new girlfriend
So far from where we've been, I know we’re cool”

It’s not that complicated. Black trousers, black leather bra, striped Thom Browne suspenders – a textbook KStew fit, and we can call it a birthday fit because it’s her birthday tomorrow, as she waits for a birthday present from Cannes the next day when the festival will announce whether or not her directorial debut will make the lineup. Kristen is the first American actress to have ever won a César, the French love her. I feel like she’s a lock.
