Will Ferrell was honored at the Santa Barbara Film Festival. Kristen Wiig and Octavia Spencer showed up in support. This IS the table to be at during a reception. You know they’d be clowning on everyone else there in the funniest but sweetest way possible. Will Ferrell’s humor is rarely mean-spirited. (Go Fug Yourself)

Emily Cappiello shares her experience of dating after her partner’s death. There’s no right way to grieve, and there’s no right way to go about finding love again. (Popsugar)

My theory on Australians walking around barefoot is that everything in Australia can kill you, so Aussies fear nothing. They go barefoot because what, they should be afraid of random nails, glass shards, or tapeworms? As if! Have you SEEN the spiders in Australia? They don’t have time to worry about anything else! (Celebitchy)

Superstitious stories for Friday the 13th! It’s not a superstitious date for everyone (Shabbot Shalom to those who observe!), but I love a good scary story when it’s cold outside and I am cozy inside. Light a fire, snuggle under a blanket, grab the hot water bottle, whatever floats your boat, and settle in with these five scary stories for this winter day. (Atlas Obscura)

I live across the street from a vegan restaurant which is always packed, and I assume it’s because so many restaurants don’t cater to the vegetarian/vegan crowd. I’m always amazed when I see menus with nut allergy warnings and gluten-free options, but not one appetizing vegetarian option, never mind if you’re vegan and looking for fully plant-based options. Chefs discuss preparing truly inclusive menus and the gap between what the food industry thinks inclusive dining and what it means to plant-based diners. (Eater)
