Behold, a collection of internet boyfriends all in one place. The press tour for Alex Garland and Ray Mendoza’s film Warfare kicked off with a premiere in Los Angeles last night, bringing together many thirst-inducing men in one location. The film stars Joseph Quinn, Noah Centineo, Will Poulter, D’Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai, Kit Connor, Charles Melton, Michael Gandolfini, and Cosmo Jarvis. It’s based on the experiences of Navy SEAL Ray Mendoza during the Iraq war, and D’Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai stars as Mendoza. Get those lead roles, baby!

Although Warfare looks stressful as f-ck. The trailers have been a consistent combination of cacophonous, claustrophobic, and chaotic. The film is based on Ray Mendoza’s experiences in the Iraq war, and he and Garland began talking about making the film while making Civil War, who was that film’s military supervisor.

The battle scenes in Civil War were far and away the best, most viscerally effective parts of that film, which makes me very curious and a little bit afraid of what the cinematic experience of Warfare will be.

The premiere also brought out Nick Offerman, who appeared in Civil War last year. Offerman does not show up at events for the hell of it, so he must really like Alex Garland, or he has an unreported role in the film. Ditto for David Oyelowo, who also turned up. PS: Nick Offerman is also in Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning this summer. Who ISN’T in that movie?
