Dear Gossips,

For some of us, or many of us, considering last year’s ratings, we’re just a week away from the return of a summer indulgence: the season seven premiere of Love Island USA!

As you may recall, season six of the show last year was a megahit. For the first time in franchise history Love Island USA outdid the original version from the UK – and it was all on the strength of the cast. These people were messy and silly, sweet and petty, stupid and indecisive and chaotic and hilarious. Everyone was talking about Love Island USA in the summer of 2024, even proper celebrities – to the point where afterwards, when the show wrapped, Serena Page, one of the breakout islanders, landed a campaign with Beyoncé’s Cécred.

So, you can imagine, anticipation is high for this year – and it looks like they’re already on the island since Ariana Madix posted a shot from the beach on Instagram stories. They’ve not yet announced the main cast but that should be happening very, very soon, maybe even today.

Some members of last year’s cast, however, showed up at the American Music Awards last night. Leah Kateb was one of the more popular girls from season six and, a year later, it looks like she and Miguel are still together.

And Liv Walker was also in attendance and seen hanging out with Sophia Umansky (not pictured), daughter of Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky.

Liv lives in LA now as she and Leah are filming the new Love Island USA spinoff, Beyond the Villa scheduled to air some time this summer, possibly after Love Island season seven concludes. Peacock wants to build on the popularity and carry that momentum. After all, the show was a huge hit for the platform last year. So these new islanders better bring it.

Yours in gossip,

Lainey
