Four new posters for the upcoming Les Miserables -- THE MOST ANTICIPATED MOVIE OF THE HOLIDAY SEASON (Hobbit what?) -- have been released but... and you know how much I love Les Miserables ... I hate them. Hate the cheesy tag lines even if they’re germane to the story (Heart Full Of Love on a poster, I don’t care how hard you try to argue it, is never not eye-rolly) and hate especially how glossy the women are. Is it a fragrance ad? Lorella compared it to a Twilight promotional photo. And she’s right. Anne Hathaway and Amanda Seyfried look like Cullens. Blasphemy! Hugh Jackman seems like he’s about to pull out a gun and drive away in a fast sports car. The least offensive of the lot, to me, is Russell Crowe’s Javert. Because of the prominence of the fleur-de-lis. And his downcast eyes.

Anyway, whatever. It’s only a poster. It’s the way they feel they have to sell it to a certain demographic. It doesn’t mean the movie won’t fulfill the promise of the trailer. Let’s watch the trailer again while we wait for a new trailer (when???) and countdown to when we can all hold hands and cry and see it over and over again.
