Rihanna was last seen in public on Monday when she was photographed running errands with Rocky. She is at the point in her pregnancy where if we don’t have a 48 hour update, people start speculating that she’s given birth. The paps said that there was a gift delivery to her home yesterday to get the rumours going that her third child has arrived. She will tell us when she’s ready. Let’s talk about her outfit instead.

I don’t have to look it up, I can tell you just by eyeballing that this tutu shirt she’s wearing is Simone Rocha because it’s Simone Rocha’s signature and it’s not the first time we’ve seen Rihanna in a piece by Simone. Simone Rocha is one my favourite brands, I wear a lot of Simone Rocha for my job in television and I’ve been wearing a lot of Simone Rocha the last two weeks for TIFF. Actually a lot of tulle skirting, period.

For the opening night gala, I wore this All Saints tulle skirt under a grommet leather jacket and platform sneakers.

All Saints also has a tulle mini option that is currently hanging on my rack because I haven’t had a fitting for it yet but I’m hoping it works because I LOVE this champagne colour and the length. It also comes in black and brown.

For the Wake Up Dead Man premiere on Saturday and to interview Keanu Reeves on his carpet, I was in this Simone Rocha ballet dress in red under a denim jacket. It is so comfortable and let me not be modest, I got complimented on it so much at the Golden Globes after-party that night.

This black tulle skirt with embroidered flowers at Simons was also part of my TIFF wardrobe – I wore it under a khaki short sleeve boxy denim shirt with boots.

And the off-white one I wore for a junket is also from Simons. For this one I paired it with an oversized men’s dress shirt and a bow tie, also with black boots. It comes in pink too and our stylist is currently pulling it for an event I’m hosting next week.

Anthropologie has a short pink version that is currently discounted.

And Maje has a tiered black tulle skirt that could take you from the office to dinner. I would wear this under a blazer and then just switch up the jewellery.

What else happened today…

We are four sleeps away from the Emmys and I’m thinking it will be a great year for fashion on that red carpet, no jinx. Here’s a lookback at Emmys fashion from 1995, if you dare. (Go Fug Yourself)

What was the show that Zosia Mamet quit because she was treated so badly? The answer is obvious. (Pajiba)

I LOVE Kerry Washington’s explanation about presentation and fashion and how it’s part of the work of being a performer, especially now. She gets it, she has always gotten it. And people like her are why we don’t have to f-cking tiptoe as much around the style questions on a red carpet anymore, THANK YOU VERY MUCH. (Celebitchy)

Manicure trends for fall 2025 and I’m still over here with my neutral jellies. (Refinery 29)

One more week until The Summer I Turned Pretty series finale. Duana wrote an essay about the show’s appeal and why people have been behaving the way they have about it for our Substack, The Squawk, and I love her point about the ENTITLEMENT. (The Squawk)
