A while back I said I was not sold on Lily-Rose Depp as an actor, let alone a leading lady, but then I saw Nosferatu. I will have a full review of that film next week so for now let me say—okay, I’m starting to see it. While Anya Taylor-Joy, who was originally slated to play this role, did cross my mind, I was mostly absorbed by what Depp does in this film. It’s the first time I’ve watched Depp in something and thought that what she does, only she can do. A leap forward for Lily-Rose!

The London premiere of Nosferatu was last night, and it brought out all the gothic girlies (except for Aaron Taylor-Johnson as he is promoting Kraven elsewhere). Lily-Rose Depp was there in a grey ensemble that I don’t love except for the color. That’s a great shade of grey. Also, damn, she REALLY looks like Vanessa Paradis.

Fashion unicorn Emma Corrin was also on hand, and the thing about them is that they’re always going to wear something that absolutely no one else could pull off, and that is certainly the case here. I do love that they’re wearing yellow, because earlier this week I described Nosferatu to Lainey as a “gothic romance with a side of Yellow Wallpaper psychological meltdown”. Emma is honoring the text!

But mostly I want to talk about the dudes. Stars Bill Skarsgard, Nicholas Hoult, and filmmaker Robert Eggers were all at the premiere and is it just me, or are they wearing the same shade of lipstick? Or maybe it’s tinted lip gloss, either way, doesn’t it look like they’re wearing the same makeup? Willem Dafoe and Ralph Ineson are excused from this, but I got super hung up last night, studying these photos because it really looks like Skarsgard, Hoult, and Eggers shared their lipstick. It’s a perfect shade of pink!
