Lucy Liu’s double sheer
Did you know that Lucy Liu is going to be in The Devil Wears Prada 2? Somehow, I missed this announcement (also, the presence of Justin Theroux and BJ Novak ensures Prada’s legacy of f-ckboys remains intact). I was checking on Lucy because she’s at the 78th Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland, where she received the Career Achievement Award and I wondered what she’s up to.
Lucy stays busy, last year she was in Steven Soderbergh’s The Presence, this year she has Rosemead, which she stars in and produced—and which premiered at Locarno—and next year she and the fashion side of Hollywood will be in Prada 2. She was also in Red One last year, but the less said about that, the better.
Speaking of fashion, Lucy wore a great mesh dress by Paolo Sebastian to the film fest:
That’s a perfect summer event dress. In a color other than white, I could see someone wearing that to a chic summer wedding…featuring a cool bride who’s into sheer. Sheer is not something you spring on unsuspecting brides on their big day, I firmly believe this. She also wore a silver number that is also sheer AND has a capelet for which I did not get a dress ID on time, but I don’t care for this look as much as I do the mesh one.

In other Lucy Liu news, she has replaced Jon Hamm as the voice of Mercedes. I don’t know if it’s enough to trick me into buying a luxury car I don’t need, but damn, Lucy Liu DOES have a great voice. She can tell me made up words about car technology that makes the driving experience slightly worse—where did all the knobs go?!—all day long.
