Madonna and daughter Lourdes today announced that Georgia May Jagger, daughter of Mick Jagger and Jerry Hall, is the new global face of their Material Girl clothing line. Georgia follows Kelly Osbourne, daughter of Ozzy Osbourne, in the position. Kelly followed Taylor Momsen of Gossip Girl who headlines her own band.

For a girl like Madonna who scrapped her way to the top from very humble beginnings, I wonder how much effort they put into finding a representative who doesn’t have a head start. I’m also curious what this means, if anything, considering that the label is marketed at teenage girls, most of whom are not raised in a rocker household.

Whatever.

It’s modeling and it’s fashion. Why am I bothering having this discussion?

Lourdes Leon and Georgia May Jagger were announced as the new global faces of Material Girl, with Madonna also involved in the announcement.
