Here’s Mae Whitman’s stylist giving her a cut, and she refers to the heavy layers as “petals” (I had always referred to as curtain bangs). Whatever they are called, they look great on her. I’m very easily influenced by bangs.

Feeling slightly attacked that a vintage-themed Instagram account is covering 1999, but what is this top on Gwyneth Paltrow? I have a pretty good recall of her red carpet looks and this one is so good - look at that fringe - that I’m sure I’ve never seen it before. It’s very different than her usual style. I need our GP expert to weigh in; Lainey what say you?

(Lainey: I remember it, but my theory as to why many might not remember it is because she had brown hair at the time – she had just wrapped filming Bounce… with Ben Affleck, lol. And when we see Gwyneth in our memories, she’s always blonde.)

Did you know there’s an account that allows you to watch Beverly Hills 90210 in 90-second segments? I’ve been reliving Kelly’s coke addiction in short form. Frankly, my friends are downright sick of these in their inbox so sharing here.

I know everyone is focusing on the Taylor Swift and Charli xcx squabble because it is so high school: the cringe theatre kid versus the aloof stoner. Maddy versus Cassie. Betty versus Veronica. This is great for gossip! But I’m watching Rolling Stone and Pitchfork. RS gave The Life of a Showgirl 10/10 (lol) and Pitchfork gave it 5.9, specifically calling out the Rolling Stone review. This kind of direct communication between journalists and publications is rare and you can bet the RS Slack is going off.

The Hermès front row was pretty A-list in a different way than most fashion houses because these three were there. And Ina Garten. There is no celebrity I associate with Hermès more than Ina. No one looks better in a block scarf. And there’s a compatibility. Hermès is not about the giant primary shade Birkins the Housewives carry; its home and leather line is about meticulously crafted pieces. It’s about assuredness and quality, not greedily grabbing at every trend.
