Big celebrity turnout yesterday in LA at the Chanel Cruise 2024 presentation. Long-time Chanel ambassador Kristen Stewart was there and her outfit was unmistakably Chanel and unmistakably Kristen Stewart in Chanel.
It’s the house aesthetic in combination with her own aesthetic – and it’s why the partnership has worked so well.
And then, of course, there’s Margot Robbie. Whenever people get excited about what Margot Robbie is wearing, she’s almost never wearing Chanel. Think about the Met Gala last week. No one was exploding in excitement about Margot showing up in Chanel. Because Margot + Chanel has been hugely underwhelming.
That said… she was at the show yesterday and she looked amazing in a bra top under a chain top with a pair of jeans.
No doubt the best, best, best, best, best Margot has ever looked in Chanel. Because… you wouldn’t know it was Chanel, right? If I wasn’t already aware that this was the Chanel Cruise presentation, I would have assumed for sure that she was wearing another label. It’s 70s Laurel Canyon, it’s Malibu Barbie, it’s a little hippie but also still French fashion. Maybe, then, her new stylist, Andrew Mukamal, is starting to figure out how to make it work with Margot and Chanel, and that would be to pick the Chanel pieces that don’t really give Chanel.
