Here’s our gift that keeps giving: Mimi Cheese arriving at her hotel in London today in advance of her appearance on X Factor. As you can see, Nick Cannon came along too, dressed in his finest to escort his wife to and from the car, up and down the stairs, into the loo when she needs to pee.

London is actually the site of some legendary Mimi f-ckery. One of my favourite stories and well known among local gossips – she was supposed to attend a party one night and could not believe that more people weren’t waiting for her outside. So they circled in the car until guests and strangers could be corralled to form a crowd and only then did she alight from her vehicle in royal fashion. Later on, she also refused to stand or walk. Not because she was drunk, not as a result of any physical impairment, she simply didn’t want to.

The sight of her being carried around from conversation to conversation by her bodyguard and then up the stairs as a final farewell made many lives that night. Can you imagine?
