I don’t know why people bother tutting about what the Olsens wear, especially to events like these. At this point, does anyone really think that they’re hoping to make it onto People.com’s Best Dressed of the Night? Mary-Kate would probably prune herself to death if she was listed side by side on style with Carrie Underwood, are you kidding me?

If there’s any party where the Olsens will get it, where they will not go boring like Zoe Saldana, it’s this one. You can always count on them to prefer being fashionable over “looking nice”. I can get down with that.

The problem with Mary-Kate however, in this red Givenchy peasant business, is that if style is supposed to push, well, we’ve all seen her in this before. So... points docked for sameness, right?

Which is why on this night I’ll take Ashley. In fact, the more I look at Ashley’s, and those sleeves, the more I love it. And would actually wear it for myself. There’s something very Marie Antoinette by Sofia Coppola about this dress - something fun, clothes you can play with, and isn’t that, really, why we’re here?
