Meryl Streep and Martin Short were shooting scenes for Only Murders in the Building season five today in New York. You wouldn’t really know, though, if the cameras weren’t there, right? Because, of course, they hang out off camera too. They hang out often off camera.

At this point I feel like everyone’s just accepted that they’re together-together even though they haven’t said with their mouths that WE ARE DATING, WE ARE A COUPLE. Also, since they’re blessedly not 20 years old and active on socials, nobody’s waiting for them to go IG official. This feels nice. This is where I sometimes wish we still lived – in a gossip time where gossip isn’t manufactured by likes and follows, unfollows, and never follows. Where two very famous people spend a lot of time together and are just leaving it to us to figure out what they are, they aren’t out here trying to direct the conversation.

Anyway, seeing Meryl and Marty reminded me that we did not see Selena Gomez at the Met Gala. She was in LA on the weekend for a Rare Beauty event and it’s not like she goes every year so it’s not that unusual for her to have not been there. But the reason I bring this up is because there was all kinds of reporting in the days and hours before the Met Gala with people claiming to know who was on the guest list and Selena’s name kept coming up. Bad gossip!

What else happened today…

There was a lot of conversation yesterday about Zendaya and Anna Sawai’s Met Gala looks and speculation about whether or not anyone was bothered. In my post about it I wrote that I didn’t think anyone should be bothered, given the history of the Black Dandyism but it turns out… Law Roach was maybe a little bothered. (E News)

The bigger conversation, or controversy, coming out of the Met Gala was over Lisa’s Louis Vuitton look that Pharrell Williams designed for her. Henry Taylor, whose art work was embroidered on the outfit, has now clarified that it was not Rosa Parks’s face on the underwear. Could there still have been a more thorough and thoughtful conversation about the design details though? (Vulture)
