SXSW was a big draw this weekend for celebrities who weren’t at Paris Fashion Week with so many premieres featuring big name talent, including Nicole Kidman who remains on a f-cking tear with all her work – and it’s work that has, primarily, supported female directors. This time it’s Mimi Cave’s Holland, which I posted about a couple of weeks ago when the first trailer was released.

She was sort of dressed for Holland at the TIME gala and at SXSW she’s continuing that energy, just not in a super obvious way; it’s theme dressing…but subtle. And, as usual, it’s so f-cking good.

The dress is Fendi, styled by Jason Bolden, newly crowned as The Hollywood Reporter’s Stylist of the Year. In Holland, Nicole plays a Stepford Wife living in Dutch Pleasantville who begins to challenge the limitations of her role both at home and in the community. Again, great work by Jason here as Nicole promotes the film which premieres on Prime on March 27 so there will be, no doubt, at least a couple more carpets between now and then and I wonder how Jason will keep up with the quiet theme dressing that we’ve seen so far.

By the way, with respect to Nicole’s relentless schedule – she said that this year will not be as batsh-t as 2024. She has Holland and also Nine Perfect Strangers season 2 (filming wrapped in July 2024) but then she’s apparently “off for the rest of the year” and I hope by “off” she means that she doesn’t have any new releases but that she’ll still be filming because if she’s not filming then we have to wait even longer for Practical Magic 2. I know she’s the last person to say this to but… bitch, GET TO WORK on that, please!
