Katy Perry was a fixture at political conventions a decade ago. Now she’s still trying to convince people to care about her new album and, yeah, I get it, this is her work. She should be promoting it. The audience might not be receiving that promotion but she can’t not support her own work.

Anyway, I agree with the Fug Girls here that this is not the worst outfit she’s worn on the press tour. But as usual where Katy’s clothing is concerned, it looks sloppy on her. These pieces are likely thousands of dollars and she makes them look knockoff. (GoFugYourself)

I watched the Love Island reunion last night while keeping an eye on night one of the Democratic National Convention. Got in all the major speeches and all the big moments, and was hoping not to see a Doritos mention…and didn’t. It was funny over social media but it doesn’t need to be on stage. That said, who hasn’t stress-eaten a bag of Doritos before? My flavour is Cool Ranch. Are we seriously saying that a person can’t share stress with a bowl of chips and be a good leader at the same time? (Pajiba)

Both Barack and Michelle Obama are expected to speak tonight at the Democratic National Convention and ahead of their appearances Vulture is revisiting Obamacore – pop culture in 2008. Some of it will make you laugh, a lot will make you cringe, and cry too. I’ll be sitting next to a man who’ll be weeping tonight during President Obama’s address. Steve Harvey is responding to an accusation that he is supporting Vice President Kamala Harris’s presidential campaign because he was paid to do so. And he’s dismissing the rumour with what I consider to be a excellent rationale: the speculated fee is way too low! Which I feel like… yeah, it is too low, seriously? One of Prince William’s many issues with Prince Harry and Meghan is supposedly that they don’t call Kate “Catherine”.
