The US Department of Transportation wants to ban airlines from charging parents/guardians for booking tickets next to children 13 and under. If that’s the minimum, fine, but why not shoot for the moon and eliminate charging for seats, period? You’re already paying for the class of the ticket, which determines amenities/comfort, so go all the way with it and ban charging extra for seats within your ticket class, full stop. I don’t think parents should be charged for trying to sit with their children, but I don’t think ANYONE should be charged for their seat selection. (Celebitchy)
