The first trailer for Oz: The Great & Powerful was released yesterday in time for Comic-Con. I love it. I love everything about it. I love the black and white to colour explosion; I love the witches; I love the little creature with the robot face and the fairy body; and I love the potential of an opening line like this:

“Kansas is full of good men. I don't want to be a good man. I want to be a great one.”

Is this a family movie or is it a commentary on the increasing ordinariness of being Special? Can it be both? Oh I hope so. This is an excellent first preview. God I wish James Franco could exist exclusively in movies and not in real life.

Here are Michelle Williams, in a gorgeous shift, and Mila Kunis at Comic-Con with Sam Raimi. Not sure where Franco was. Probably working on another enlightening movie review.
