There’s supposed to be a court hearing today in the Brad Pitt Angelina Jolie divorce case. Previously on World War Brange, a reality show at this point, Brad has made some recent significant gains. The children have been required to spend more time with him and on the public relations front, he and his team have done a great job through TMZ and other media outlets making Angelina look like an unreasonable bitch who’s trying to come between him and his kids and him and his bank account. Page Six has also been really helpful.
Yesterday Page Six reported that Angelina is “insanely jealous” of Amal Clooney and that she resents all the attention that Amal gets, thinks that Amal is “single white femaling” her. Also “Jolie is also fuming that former close friends George Clooney and Amal have publicly taken her soon-to-be ex-husband Brad Pitt’s side in their increasingly messy split — while the fallout from their divorce battle is making Jolie appear “crazy and manipulative.””
When did we ever consider George and Amal to be “former close friends” of Angelina? It’s been well-documented that Brad and George were never as close as we wanted them to be. Brad did not go to George’s wedding. Brad also didn’t attend George’s recent AFI tribute. If anything, George is actually closer to Jennifer Aniston. So, surprisingly, the sourcing on this Page Six story is a lot closer to In Touch and OK! and Star Magazine levels of bullsh-t.
Still, it’s worth remembering that Page Six was the first to report on the connection between Brad and Dr Neri Oxman. It came out of nowhere. In the end, it went nowhere, but for a while there, Brad was romancing a world class academic and artist. A younger version of his estranged wife. And now Page Six is implying that his estranged wife is a bitter asshole stewing over all kinds of perceived and/or imaginary slights.
Was this the strategy all along?
As I’ve written about several times already, Page Six doesn’t hang out at MIT, waiting to see if any professors are Tinder dating celebrities. That story landed in their inbox somehow. From Dr Oxman to Amal, was this the long game that Team Pitt has been playing for months, while accusing Angelina of going to the media for the PR advantage?
Here’s the thing we still have to get to the bottom of – you’ve seen the headlines about Angelina being “ordered” by the court to allow Brad more time with the children, pending whatever will happen at today’s hearing. So, presumably, if the legal work has been working in his favour, and TMZ keeps telling us that it is, and he’s done what he needs to do to get what he really wants, which he feels is his due, which is joint custody of his children, and that’s already been happening… why the need to get this dirty, beyond pettiness? What is the “more” in this situation for Brad Pitt?
