Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton have been together four years. Apparently their official anniversary is, like, right around now. But it might not be the anniversary they celebrate for much longer because, according to Page Six, they’ll soon be married. A source says:

“We’re all expecting a wedding soon. I don’t think there will be a big engagement, but they will have an intimate wedding — I would say within the year they’ll be married.

I believe this. I think most of us believe this? Which is interesting because there were a lot of people who didn’t believe they were legit at the beginning. Both had juuuuuust come out of marriages and both were hurt out of their marriages. It seemed convenient that Gwen and Blake were together while working on The Voice. There was cynicism about their romantic connection and the show and publicity. And yet. Here we are, four years later, and few if any doubt that this has been real. They’re based in LA but also spend time together at his home in Oklahoma; fully immersed in the lives of her children, and other than the talk around them when they first got together, theirs has been one of the most stable celebrity relationships of the last few years.

Where marriage is concerned, to me, Gwen has always seemed like that girl – funky in outward presentation but traditional in private – and that appears to match Blake’s values too. It also helps that, as he says, he ADORES her:

When you consider what she went through with Gavin Rossdale, and I don’t just mean at the end of their marriage but even when they were dating, when she was the one waiting around for him – at the beginning, remember, he was the bigger star. I mean, not for long, but he was the rock star with the rock star life and she saw herself as the awkward girl with the crush on the boy everyone else wanted. Don’t forget, Courtney Love said that she and Gavin had an ongoing thing even after he and Gwen were known to be a couple. This is before they got married but that kind of history leaves an emotional mark and it can set an imbalance in a relationship.

That’s not, however, how it looks to be with Blake. My at-a-distance analysis of Gwen and Blake is that there’s a lot more security between them, that she’s more confident in this space. So I buy that there’s going to be a wedding, even an intimate one. The dress on the other hand…

Gwen’s pink Galliano is one of the most well-known celebrity wedding dresses of all time. I don’t know that she needs to top it, but I also don’t think the next one is going to be unremarkable.
