Materialists comes out on Friday and earlier this week, Vogue released an “off the cuff” interview with Dakota Johnson and Pedro Pascal promoting the movie – the whole thing was really cute, their chemistry is fun, the way it’s fun when two friends, who are super comfortable with each other, sometimes forget that they’re on camera. And then it gets even funnier when they remember they’re on camera. It’s chaotic and c-nty energy between two stars who genuinely seem to like each other.

But I’m not here to talk about them. I’m here to talk about one of Pedro’s answers, when he’s asked about reality shows. Much of The Last of Us is filmed in Canada, which could explain Pedro’s knowledge of Canadian television and he’s spoken often of how much he loves Canada and, obviously, Canadian TV shows, including Canadian versions of TV shows that originated in the UK. I’m talking about The Great Canadian Baking Show, hosted by Alan Shane Lewis and MY FRIEND THE ONE AND ONLY AND GREATEST ANN PORNEL!

I know I’m biased but it’s the truth when I say that Ann is a f-cking treasure. A treasure recognised by another treasure – the group chat was popping off when we realised that Pedro Pascal MUST know our Ann. Which means if you don’t know Ann, you are missing out. She’s the baddest, the most interesting and memorable person in any room. Look at her, how could you forget this face?!

What else happened today…

Speaking of The Last of Us, there’s good news about season three and bad news about season two. (Pajiba)

I feel like other people like this dress on Emily Blunt more than I do. It’s not offensive but I’m not sure it’s all that special either. And that seam across the bust is making me crazy. (Go Fug Yourself)

Helen Hunt is talking about women and shoes and feet and liberation and I feel seen because for almost a decade now I have rarely worn heels on a red carpet at an event I’m covering. This past Oscars was the first time I wore a true heel – for the previous at least six or seven years before that it was a boot or a one-inch, because there are options now, fashion has evolved. Still, I’m reminded of the truth of it all the time, every weekend if I happen to be downtown, seeing young women in their body-con dresses and strapped heel sandals: it didn’t hurt as much when I was under 30! But at a certain point you hit a f-cking wall, and your feet are like, f-ck you, no more. (Celebitchy)

Sob! Rumi and Beyoncé in matching Burberry and Rumi is overcome with emotion during a song about her and for her. My heart! (Hollywood Unlocked)

I watched ten minutes of Owen Wilson’s new show, Stick, last night and was immediately hooked. The scene right off the top is for the golf nerd without alienating people who don’t get golf. Probably a lot of you out there don’t get golf, LOL. I know Sarah has no time for it, but I’ve become a junkie, to the point where I’m now reading pieces about how golf courses and/or tournaments practically have personalities. The US Open is this weekend and this course is vicious. (The Ringer)
