Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton got the cover of PEOPLE this week and, as covered in the previous post, it’s not clear whether or not this is really an actual story or if it’s a make-a-story. And it’s certainly not a story the way Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel could have been the cover story. Justin and Jessica however show up in the upper inset on the magazine’s front page.

What is the “truth about their marriage”? Well, according to PEOPLE:

“Obviously Justin drank too much this time, but Jessica believes he didn’t cheat on her,” the source says of the couple, who have been married since 2012 and share a 4-year-old son, Silas. “What’s most important to her in life is her family and being the best mom to Silas. She’ll never break up her family over something like this.”

Um, was there any doubt? Who was out here thinking Jessica Biel would leave Justin Timberlake over this? As I wrote last week, this is going to be part of the pivot – we are stronger than ever now, we’ve been through it, and it proved even more that we are the best couple! What’s the over under on her being pregnant by March?

Over at Us Weekly, they’re reporting that Jessica was “upset and embarrassed” by Justin holding hands with Alisha Wainwright and thought the behaviour was “completely inappropriate”. Also:

“Jessica encouraged Justin to put his statement out on Instagram because she felt embarrassed by his actions and wanted him to take accountability and feel embarrassed as well,” the source previously told Us.”

That’s what I wrote last week when he came out with this apology – the story had died, nobody was talking about it after American Thanksgiving. The fact that he issued that statement told us more about what was going on inside their home. You don’t need Us Weekly making up a source comment to confirm that. What’s more interesting is how she felt about the apology once it went up. Did she get to read it beforehand? Because it was sh-t. It was an almost-apology that became a press release for his movie, Palmer.

At this point, it would only make the situation worse if he released yet another statement to improve upon the initial one so the plan is probably to move forward and hope that people will forget, and in the new year show up at some event together, all gorgeous and glamorous, to obliviate the incident from our memories.

Forget?

Please.
