OK, we’re about half an hour away from the photo call, when Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will step out for the first time ever in the UK… with a ring on her finger.

More information will be revealed then but right now, here’s what we do know – after the photo call, Harry and Meghan will sit down for their first joint interview, to be aired later today. I’m hearing it’ll be the BBC and my sources tell me the journalist will be Mishal Husain.

And this may tell us a lot about Harry and Meghan’s future decisions. They’ve chosen a woman to interview them about their engagement. And not just any woman but a daughter of immigrants. A woman of colour. A woman with the last name Husain. I don’t think this is an accident.

Meghan, who was born in America, herself will be an immigrant in the UK. She too is a woman of colour. And, with all that’s going on in the world, in many countries, but particularly in the United States and in Britain (I don’t think I have to spell this out), to me, Mishal Hussein is a deliberate decision that’s intended to give us an idea of what Harry and Meghan’s worldview will be once they start working together, officially, as a team.

One more thing we already know before the photo call: tomorrow we will find out the month of the wedding and the wedding location.

More soon.
