It’s been a year of fast celebrity flames. One of those flames has already burnt out. Am I the only one holding out hope that Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson will get back together? As for Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin, PEOPLE posted a story the other day about how he’s scaling back on work so that they can be together but she wants to work more and they’ve “had a few conflicts about it”. THAT is your rotten seed, right there. Most people want the gossip about cheating and whatever, but sometimes, the root of the problem isn’t infidelity, but the unsolveable: lifestyle and life perspective. Hailey is 21 years old. Most people would tell you that, at 21, when your identity is barely formed, a career is a better investment than a marriage.
Rounding out the three fast flames of 2018 – Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas. They’re reportedly getting married in India in December. Her bridal shower happened a couple of days ago at the Tiffany & Co flagship in New York. Remember, Nick shut down the one in London when he bought her engagement ring. There were 100 guests invited including her ma and Nick’s mother too and Kevin Jonas’s wife Danielle and also Kelly Ripa and Lupita Nyong’o. Priyanka wore a white Marchesa dress and Vogue has all the exclusive details about the event. Are you sensing a theme? Is this going to be a Vogue wedding?
First of all, Tiffany hasn’t gotten this much play in a long time. Vogue must love that kind of brand partnership. Vogue, of course, is Anna Wintour. And, as we know, Anna’s been trying to bring back Marchesa and Georgina Chapman for months. You’ll recall, while Amal and George Clooney ended up selling their wedding photos to PEOPLE and Hello!, she did a final fitting photo shoot with Vogue with Oscar de la Renta. Anna knows her way around celebrity wedding coverage. I’m wondering now if Anna is consulting on Priyanka’s dress. And, ultimately, if the Chopra-Jonas wedding is going to be covered in Vogue. For Anna, as we’ve seen with the Marchesa example, it’s a way to strengthen her relationships with certain labels and designers or boost the profile of others, not to mention any branding and business opportunities, on top of the media coverage internationally. Priyanka benefits too, if this is true. I mean, it wouldn’t hurt her profile either for her to Vogue her wedding. You think Prince Harry and Royal Meghan will show up?
