When BLACKPINK released their latest smash hit “How You Like That” at the end of June, it set the YouTube record for the most views in 24 hours with 86.3 million. The video currently has over 300 million views.
And remember, there’s still another single to come ahead of the release of the album in September. Promotion for the follow-up single is now underway with this new Instagram post:
There’s obviously a dessert theme happening here. With a 70s groove as illustrated by that font. But of course what most people are talking about is the “?” Not that BLACKPINK needs to feature an artist to generate anticipation for a new song. But, yes, this adds to the intrigue. Who could it be?
Ariana Grande apparently liked the post so there are a lot of people speculating that this could be the collaboration of summer 2020. BLACKPINK’s first international collaboration was back in 2018 with Dua Lip on a track called “Kiss and Make Up”. Earlier this year, as you know, they were featured on Lady Gaga’s song “Sour Candy”. Ariana is also featured on a song from Chromatica, “Rain On Me”.
Whoever it is, I’m here for the video. The “How You Like That” video has already given my eyes so much joy and even the dance practice video has become an instant stimulant. I f-cking love it right after they sing “it’s a bird, it’s a plane” and then join hands and side-strut/skip forward in unison (around 2:20). This is my fantasy – to enter a room, any room, doing the same with my friends. You know what would kill me?
