Dear Gossips,

Sorry, I’m a little bit shocked. So I may regret these words later, I may be risking your anger because your experience may not be the same…

But I just got Beyoncé COWBOY CARTER tickets and the process did not break my soul, which is why I’m in a daze right now, and I keep texting MC our resident music and concert know-it-all because part of me thinks I’ve been punked?

Let me turn this into a public service announcement, for those of you reading this early enough, before tickets in other cities go on pre-sale.

I signed up at Beyonce.com when she first released the dates and locations after the Grammys. Three cities: Chicago, Houston, London. The pre-sale for London was this morning at noon local time. So I clicked on the link, with my code, to wait in the queue. I was 13,000 when it started. After half an hour it stalled at 6000 for 15 minutes. Then it moved quickly, and about 45 minutes total time later I was in…

And there were tickets still available. Like General Admission tickets. So now, in disbelief, I’m texting Duana, like, for real for real, are we doing this? And she all caps responds, YES. Tried a couple of times for four tickets, didn’t work. So I dropped it down to two. Go to check out, they’re gone. Try again, check out, they’re gone. A third time… it brings me to the payment page. I pay, it confirms, it was smooth. No crashing, no clocking out, nothing.

For £200 a ticket, what?! I’m not saying this is cheap. Of course it’s still a privilege to be able to get concert tickets. But also, in these times, for BEYONCÉ, GA tickets for US$250/$350 was not what I was expecting this morning.

So. For those of you who are locked in on other locations in North America today – if my experience was any indication, don’t be afraid if you get to the queue in 13,000. It moved for me. And I hope it moves for you.

Sweet*Honey*Buckin’ here we come. GOOD LUCK!

Yours in gossip,

Lainey
