The Hollywood Foreign Press Association has announced that for the first time in 15 years, the Golden Globe Awards will have a host: Ricky Gervais.

Finally.

Ricky told People:

“Not only is this the biggest Hollywood celebration of the industry, which includes both film and TV, but also an environment where I feel I can get free reign as a host. I have resisted many other offers like this, but there are just some things you don't turn down."

There it is. The key words:

FREE REIGN.

And if this is indeed true, if Ricky is allowed to be Ricky, which means inappropriate, offensive, and f-cking hilarious, this is definitely worth the jizz. If he’s allowed to drink at the same time, it’ll be even better. Everyone else will be drunk anyway. That’s what’s so great about the Golden Globes. They don’t eat, they sit down, and they pound the Moet straight away.

It’s a bold choice, however, considering the MiniVan viewer. You know how they like to tut. Oh how they will tut.
