People have been waiting a long, long time for new music from Rihanna. It was rumoured a couple of weeks ago that she’d be part of the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever soundtrack. And yesterday Marvel seemed to confirm it with this tweet:

Rihanna made it official today:
“Lift Me Up” was cowritten by Tems, Ludwig Göransson, Ryan Coogler, and Rihanna herself. It has been over six years, almost seven, since Rihanna’s album ANTI came out. And she’s had a lot going on in that time with multiple lifestyle brands, becoming a billionaire, and then a mother back in May.
But now, Rihanna is ready to perform again. First there was the Super Bowl announcement. “Lift Me Up” will be out on Friday. Wakanda Forever opens on November 11. And that same week, the annual Savage x Fenty show on Prime Video which she also previewed yesterday on her socials confirming the performers list and also the celebrities who’ll be appearing in the show:
Anitta, Burna Boy, Don Toliver, and Maxwell?! That is a f-cking lineup. And then that model list. There’s a Black Panther cast member in there too: Winston Duke… which… if the clothing is meant to be intimate, by all means, show me Winston Duke styled intimately by Rihanna, thank you Rihanna. Same goes for Simu Liu, another member of the MCU.
That said, my prediction for the standout: Taylour Paige. Is going to kill it.
And, as always, Rihanna is continuing to run things with the synergy that’s happening between all her projects. Her musical return is happening alongside the release of the most anticipated movie of the year, ahead of her stage return at the most-watched event of the year.
And we still don’t know yet about an album. The album is coming, right?
