Rihanna’s Savage x Fenty has launched its first ever Pride collection. Pride month ends today but Pride is always, so Rihanna’s making sure that the rainbow, in support of 2SLGBTQ+ equal rights, is represented beyond June. She also announced that the collection, in partnership with her Clara Lionel Foundation, will benefit five organisations that serve the community – GLAAD, Audre Lorde Project, TranLatin Coalition, Caribbean Equality Project, and the Trans Wellness Center.
As you can see, she and her team have made sure they’ve been inclusive of people from different backgrounds and environments.
Of course no work is ever perfect and, sure, the intent of what Rihanna does may not always match the impact. It may come to be eventually that there is something they hadn’t thought of, that she and her team could have done better. But the way Rihanna has built and run her empire, there’s always space for growth, not just on a pure business level, but on brand philosophy – and that’s part of showing your work too, to be able to take in feedback and improve from it.
Here’s Rihanna in New York yesterday in a great oversized blazer which has been one of her signature looks over the years. She loves an oversized blazer and this one is split at the back with lapels too. It looks light and I love the hang of it and it’s versatile so you could wear a body-con dress or a bodysuit under but also jeans or shorts, as she’s doing here, and it would still work.
