Robert Pattinson and some friends were photographed sightseeing at the Acropolis in Greece yesterday. I’ve never been to Greece. I so badly want to eat my way through Greece. The reason we’ve yet to go to Greece is because I feel like I would need more than a week in Greece. And I can only take a week off at a time.

Anyway, Robert is there promoting Good Time. If you’ve not seen Good Time yet it’s now available to rent and it’s considered to be the best performance of Robert’s career. Which is why he’s been out here on the award circuit generating as much possibility as he can in hopes of a nomination. He was just nominated yesterday for a Spirit Award and a Gotham Award, his first prestigious award nominations. Like awards that actually mean something and not the People’s Choice Awards or the MTV Kiss awards. And according to Scott Feinberg’s most recent Oscar race standings update, Robert’s in the “major threat” category in the Best Actor Oscar race, which is just below the frontrunners. Currently the frontrunners, according to Scott, for Best Actor are Gary Oldman (also the favourite at this point), Tom Hanks, Timothee Chalamet, Jake Gyllenhaal, and James Franco. You’ll note that Daniel Day-Lewis is missing. And you can never count out DDL. Also missing: Get Out’s Daniel Kaluuya. Get Out is one of the most acclaimed films of the year and is contending for a Best Picture nomination. The Academy has a tendency to nominate in bunches and Get Out has a shot at a bunch of categories. If there’s an opening for Best Actor there, or if there are any weaknesses in the campaigns of any other possible nominees, it would be great if Daniel could get in there for Get Out.

As for Robert – is his friend hot? The one with the black jacket on? Who looks like a bodyguard? At first I thought the friend might have been hot. Not sure I’m into the way he wears his jeans.
