Weekend RPattz and Suki
It was a busy weekend for famous couples, including Robert Pattinson and Suki Waterhouse, who are still going strong. They were confirmed to be dating in 2018, and it is now 2025. This is a celebrity couple that has not only survived seven years, but they survived the pandemic. RPattz + Suki 4eva? I hope so! I really like them together.
Robert Pattinson has never seemed as comfortable in his famous life as he has with Suki. Maybe that’s in part just getting older and more mature, but maybe it’s also a little bit doing life with the right person (same goes for KStew). Things are maybe not simpler but definitely clearer with the right person.
RPattz and Suki were out in LA over the weekend with their baby. Suki and the baby were on the cover of British Vogue last year—with the baby’s face tastefully turned away from the camera—but they’re mostly keeping their daughter on the downlow. Which is fine and probably for the best, but…I do want to know her name. I mean, Suki’s real name is Alice, and she goes by her middle name, which is Suki, and RPattz also has a normal name. But they’re both artsy celebrities. I feel like their kid’s name will either be totally normal OR something along the lines of Peaches Geldof.
Meanwhile in other RPattz news, Mickey 17 is not blowing up the box office. It’s currently standing at $90 million worldwide, against a budget estimated to be between $120-150 million. That’s not great. (It’s been a slow start to the box office overall this year, with this past weekend being the lowest box office of the year so far.) I’m sure there are some people saying that David Zaslav and the executives at Warner Bros. Discovery were right to maybe probably try to bury the movie, but I think Mickey 17 is the kind of film that if you came out with a strong, confident marketing campaign, it could stir up audience interest, especially against such weak competition. But WBD was never confident in this movie, and which translated to low interest among potential audiences. The multiple date shifts undoubtedly didn’t help. I wonder how many people thought the movie already came out months ago?
