Sarah just posted about the big Deadpool & Wolverine premiere last night in New York, focusing on the movie business part of the gossip. In related Deadpool news, there’s also the gossip about Blake Lively and Ryan Reynold’s personal life. 

 

A rather emotional (at least from the sound of his voice) Ryan was on stage to introduce the movie alongside his colleagues and thanked his family members who were all there. That includes Blake and their four children. Up to this point we only knew that he and Blake are the parents of three girls, James, Inez, and Betty. We do not know the sex of the fourth child, born in early 2023, and we still don’t, but we now know the name: 

 

Ryan Reynolds is too smart for us to assume that he wouldn’t understand that this would be immediately shared and become a headline just as he’s making the final push for the movie he’s been working on for six years or more. This story is everywhere. 

 

So the baby name is Olin. Which I love, because of petty reasons. Because Olin is not Obi. You’ll recall, the last time we covered this it was back in June when In Touch Weekly claimed that the baby’s nickname was Obi. This is what they reported:

“The couple call their fourth child Obi. It’s short for a longer name and its origin is incredibly deep and meaningful,” the insider says. “It’s also a nod to one of the characters in Gossip Girl, which of course, Blake starred in.” Otto "Obie" Bergmann IV, played by Eli Brown, is a main character in the 2021 Gossip Girl revival.”

 

I mean, they got the first letter right but Olin is not Obi and Gossip Girl has nothing to do with it. Meg Walters at Glamour UK did some sleuthing and found that Blake’s maternal grandfather’s name was James Olin McAlpin. James is the name of their oldest daughter so this tracks. It also tracks that In Touch is wrong because they’re more often wrong than right.
