Sandra Bullock fought back on behalf of the Movie Star last week as The Proposal surprisingly earned over $30 million, way exceeding industry projections. Formulaic chick flick but whatever. In the war against reality losers and the democratisation of celebrity, a real star like Sandra driving a romcom all the way to the top is definitely something I can live with.

Here she is, with that smug bitch Ryan Reynolds, today in Spain promoting the movie.

What’s my favourite in all of this?

That the success of The Proposal has been universally credited to Sandra. Where it belongs. Because he could have been anyone. It could have been any actor, any decent looking mid range name. And it still would have worked. She makes it work.

Sigh.

It’s been so long since I’ve seen While You Were Sleeping. Love that movie.
