Most of us agreed that SJP did not present very strong at the Oscars. Hell na. Or have you forgotten? Click here for a refresher. It was busted from head to toe.
Last night SJP, Cynthia Nixon, and Kristin Davis were in Vegas for ShoWest. Major improvement. First at the Warner Bros promotional event it was a yellow Lanvin and pale pink heels. LOVE the combination. Then later on at the ShoWest ceremony, it was a beautiful, flirty, black cocktail with a black star at the collarbone – so original, so very HER, and, gulp, shocking because...
It’s Marchesa.

I know.
I love it. And SHE loves it. See how much she loves it? It’s what a great dress can do. And you’re so sad at the end of the night because you never want to take it off. Summer of 2008 I bought a dress at Madison on Robertson in LA. It was a short strapless corset dark blue Luella. And the fit was the best. Expensive but SO worth it. I wore it to the Much Music Video Awards that year with pale pink heels and didn’t want the evening to end.
About a month later, Jacek and I went to Seattle for a couple of days. I took it with me just in case, never ended up wearing it, and F-CK ME I left it in the closet and came home. F-CK! F-CK!!!!! Call me shallow but I still feel the pain. Even now I am STILL angry and remorseful, almost tearful. Of course I called them. Of course they said they couldn’t find it. Heartbroken. For reals.
Anyway, SJP looks like she feels about this Marchesa the way I felt about my Luella. Also... photo assumption... doesn’t she always seem like she’s having a much better time when he’s not around?
